yes, get the tank. torti's 50g set up cost me about $350 not including the filter.

i agree. i dont know how often people list your wanted tank size but i too have seen 55 gallon tanks with stands go for a little cheaper than that. i know its tempting but if you wait it out for the right deal you wont regret it.

For me, it's simply a cost issue. If it's the best deal in your area, then you get what you can. I would put $175 into the main, permanent tank instead. There are other options in the 40-60 gallon range, especially with stock tanks and rubbermaids.

My roommate AKA my parents are having no part of me using a Rubbermaid lol . I SAW that Tank that I wanted, for my main tank but because of my living situations right now it would not work at all . Thank you for your advice .

i know petsmart sells a 45-55g tank that has a metal mesh top. its sold as a reptile tank and its only warning is not to fill it more than 50-75% full (can't recall exactly). and if i recall correctly its under $200. and for a stand you have two options really; find a cheap one at wal-mart or build on from 2x4, 4x4, plywood, etc.
