my boyfriend is setting up the xp3 we just bought right now. I just wanted to know, which parts should be sealed with the aquarium sealant? All detachable areas? Or are there specifics places that should and should not be sealed?

I didn't seal anything. I would run the tube farther into the tank like Chris did to allow for better filtration.

Thanks. And I don't know if you have the xp but the xp3 I bought says it comes with everything i need. but it didn't come with the stars. do i need them, are they necessary? on the box it says it comes with the bio-chem and all the sponge things. in the instructions it says it comes with stars.

I have two Xp3's. We had to buy the biostars, but they're really cheap and you just toss them in there.

what are bio stars?? I am ordering a XP-3 soon and need to know what I will need to buy seperate

The only separate thing you should need to buy is the bio stars.
