Does anyone else have a problem with the water level dropping after like a week? i gots a 30 gal and it drops like almost an inch a week. it is next to a window but its a north facing window where the sunlight never beats on it. I did just upgrade to a heat lamp instead of a uvb lamp due the wininter season coming up and did just get a water heater but its been doing it before them.

Anyone else have this prob?

first your going to need to put the UVB back and keep the heat lamp there. water evaporating like that is normal too

That's normal. I have to add water to my 10 gallon every few days, but that's because I have a 75 gallon filter in there right now to keep the biological filtration going.

In the summer I have to top up my 90 gallon once a week. Now that it's cooler weather though, I've put a glass top on the tank, so there's less evaporation.

Yup, we have to do it too. If you cover up the majority of the top (not the basking area) then you'll minimize the evaporation.

well, i have a 56 gal, and it always happens to me so i always have to add water after like a week and its barely getting any sunlight

I lose water on a regular basis because of my heat lamps but then again my tanks not very big.

It happens in all tanks, just some regular evaportaion. It has nothing too do with heat lamps, my fish tank with floresent bulb evaporates just as fast as the turtle tank does.

Same here. My 110 gallon drops about four gallons every 5 days or so.

alright ok just making sure lol. i just dont have a cover for it yet because i'm going to building an over the tank basking area.

As but the UVB and heat lamp i cant put both for i only have one lamp. Once i make the basking area i'll be putting both and customizing it a bit.
