i was at the pet store and i came across these white tablets that you can drop into the tank to minimize and kill alge. are they safe?

I'm not exactly sure as to how safe those algae tablets are, but I do have a suggestion.
Personally, I use Turtle Clean, it has the same effect as the algae tablets you saw and when I used it in my tank, algae and turtle waste seemed to lessen. Here's the link to it.

I've used turtle clean before, but I heard by someone that it hurt there turtle in a way..

i just use a filter pad that removes phosphate

I used "algae fix" as the only place the tank can fit just so happens to be across the room from a window and in the summer it'd go green the same day you put new water in it. I found it worked a charm. I've read it is safe for turtles. Thank god for the winter. Been clear for quite some time now without.
