Has anyone had any experience using these external filters (the title) and are they any good? I plan on buying one so just wanted to know if there are any problems with it.

i've seen this brand on the petsmart website & i'm actually curious about them too. does anyone know if this filter is good also? it's the same brand, but it looks like an HOB

I searched around for a eheim classic 350, and found nothing. I find the marineland 350, and the other eheim canisters, but no 350.

are you sure the name is correct? Got a link?

Its a canister filter, and it's also known as eheim classic 2215 external filter.

ahh ok. Many people like those filters. I think it would be a good choice, however a comparable sized Rena Filstar would be better. That is if they are available in China?

how low should the water level be from the inlet tube of an HOB? because i have a 50 gallon & will be filling it about a little more than halfway (about 9 or 10 inches high) & my tank is about 18 1/2 inches high. would that water level be too low for an HOB?

Why are you only filling it to 9-10"?? turtles use all the water they can get. the more the better.

because her basking dock will be put inside the tank & i have to make sure that the dock will be at a certain height so that she can't escape. my 50 gallon is really big (would also be a huge upgrade from her 20 gallon), i figured upgrading from my 20 to 50 gallon (with 10 inches of water level) would be a good transition (please consider that my tank is about 4 1/2 feet long), it seemed like enough swimming space for her to get used to.

i know that they need as much swimming space as possible & i'd like to make her an ATBA, but i don't have the time or money to assemble & buy more supplies to make one. i'm also saving for a new filter & UVB bulb & i'm really low on money . i really want her in the new tank asap and i'm doing my best to get her everything asap. i recently looked for the crayola play sand, but couldn't find it in the store nor online (i posted on your Sand FAQ about my situation on looking for the sand).

I see. Well turtles adjust very well to new amounts of water, it should not be a problem at all, especially for a 6" turt.

You can raise it up as much as possible, as long as he/she cannot get its claws up on the rim of the tank.

yea, i'm going to try to raise it up as high as possible. but if i get an HOB, how low can the water level be?

It depends on the situation really. Can't tell exactly how low the water could be.

hmmm ok, like say in inches (on a Marineland penguin 350), how far down can the inlet tube go?
