Looks good, but make sure and enclose your tank so the turtles can't escape. Egg crate works wonderfully.

The basking dock doesn't look big enough for gnarles, let alone gnarles and little foot. They sell larger sized docks that should accommodate your turtles' size.

Also, make sure you have UVA and UVB bulbs. I can't see if both those lights are on or not.

I'm almost done with the homemade basking dock - I'll post pictures when I am. I also went and bought some egg crate today so they can't escape. I have the original tank cover on there for now.

And yes, I have both UVA and UVB bulbs, you just can't see them because of the angle.

Also, beautiful decor. Are they plastic or is it real-ish? I really like the one with fake plants stuck on it. Where did you find such beauties? I bet little foot is glad he has something to hide in.

They're both plastic.

My mom is a science teacher and she had a lot of tank decorations that she hasn't used and she gave them to me because she's not aloud to have live animals in the classroom anymore because of health hazards, so I got lucky.


I'm pretty sure she got them at Wal-Mart though.

They're kind of dark, but I did the best I could.

Quick question - what is the humidity supposed to be like in the basking area?

I've never read anything about humidity. I don't think it really matters since they're aquatic. As long as it isn't raining on your basking area, you should be fine.

Quick note: Move the heat bulb so that it isn't behind the glass. This will allow all the heat and UVA onto the basking area.
