its just sand, it looks that way because it was still a little damp when i took the picture.

thank you for posting these pics im going to make mine just like this i was looking on here for ideas thanks if you could take more pics of the entrance to the basking area it would be most appreciated, but if you cant its fine. thanks great pics ..... and oh i mis when my res was a little baby!

I'm very interested in seeing if you have any issues with mold. If you don't i would love to mimic your idea. How close is the water to the bottom of the dock? Also, is any part of your ATBA removable?
