Habitat - Indoor :: Making a ramp

I'm not creative or handy or anything that is needed to make a ramp... or anything for that matter. But I must.

I've had enough of her eating the turtle-dock, which is used as the ramp. I've done everything, I've tried everything and she just can't get enough of it still.

I even tried taking it away for a few hours, like oh, if you eat it you can't have it :p

So I give up and want to try to get her something different.

But I don't want to change much, because I can't, the brain does not work that way. I just want to add something simple and cheap. Right now her basking platform is a 1/8" thick sheet of polycarbonate. The thinness of it, I should assume, is whats going to screw me over in this little venture.

You could probably use another piece polycarbonate or if you want to change the whole basking area Id go with eggcreate its easy to cut and glue together. and its pretty cheap i got mine for only 10 dollars its 2 feet by 4 feet and if your wondering you can get it at almost every hardware store

I sure hope you read this. Does your turtle have cuttlebone. My turtle was eating the silicone inside of her tank. Then I gave Cyka some cuttlebone and she stopped picking at the silicone. So give your turtle some cuttlebone and good luck.

She eats so much cuttlebone even at $3.50 a 6 pack she'll break my bank. A full bone in 2 days and I'm not around to give her more during the day and some nights :\ At least she'll never have turtle osetoprosis :p

Thanks for the idea of the egg crate. Sounds really easy I might just give that one a try!

My turtle has a voracious appetite for cuttlebone as well. I posted about it, and was told to limit him a bit. Only giving a head size piece every day or every other day. Works for me.
