There is a white deposition on the shell of my turtle. What may be the possible reason of that. I noticed that when I kept my turtles out in the sunlight, their shells gradually became white. Is this a fungal disease?

Does it disappear in once your turtle returns to the water? If it does, it's probably mineral/calcium/salt residue from the water.

Yes it does disappears when the turtle returns into the water......................is it harmful?what precautions to use?

Also, I do not change the tank water very often. Is this the cause?

Probably. Only pure water evaporates, leaving behind all of the mineral/calcium/salt that is in your tap water. Water changes remove some amounts of these things...maybe a picture?

Seems like it's just mineral deposits. Does it also show up on the skin and around the eyes?

No it is only visible on the shell..............what should i do if it is mineral deposit?

i clean my turtle when i do the tank. i have a kitchen sponge with the pad on back i use. it's not real abrasive and he seems to like it.

I have cleaned my turtle with a brush but its still there.
