Habitat - Indoor :: Brown algae

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I know it has been posted before but, i can't really find a good enough answer. My tank setup is new since December 27, and my filter is new since around January 7. I am getting all this brown algae and I scrape it and do water changes as well as monitor the water with test strips. It keeps coming back, is this going to stop or is this just my tank cycling?

A couple of questions;
What are the test strips showing?
Is the algae just on that end of the tank, if so is there sunlight on that end of the tank at any stage of the day?

It is early days, filters take a while to cycle.

See this article: http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/algae.htm.

What you have is a diatom algae bloom, very common in new tanks. It will go away on it's own as the tank matures. In the meantime, just wipe it off the glass right before you do a water change.
