I recently both this long green plant from the pet store. It hangs from one end and the water blows it about. After I put it in the tank, my RES has not left it alone. I have not seen her basking for at least two days now, she is always swimming around in it or making pathways in it. I would like to know if she will try and eat it?
She might take a few bites, but she will quickly recognize it as not food. Plus, the plants are pretty tough. However, if she does try to eat it quite a bit, or actually get a piece off, quickly take it out.
