Habitat - Indoor :: How to remove aquarium glue/ silicon?

Hey. Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I have some smudges of silicon that aren't coming off the glass of my tank so easily. Is there a product that can break it down?

I don't know.Can you not just pull it off and get some tank silicone?

There is actually some gel type stuff...can't think of the brand name but its in a purple tube I believe...that breaks down silicone to make it easy to remove. I've used it for large removals around faucets, counters, etc so it should be fine for smudges.

A razor blade works well. Hold the blade flat against the glass, and scrape it across the silicon. Worked for me when I got silicon on the glass kitchen table.

Yeah a razor blade is the best bet. Brand new, sharper the better.

You can also use a putty knife to get it off....... I used both the razor blade and putty knife to strip my tank.

Thanks a lot. Razor blade totally did the job without scratching the glass.
