She's nailed the general idea, but I agree BFGY... that is way too tight. Don't forget, the cork bark will also expand once it's been in the water.

I know I posted on another thread http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21493 but my cork bark finally came in.

It's so cool. I ordered the LARGE from petdiscounters.com. On the site it doesn't say but IT IS a ZOO-MED Cork Tile (natural). I cut to fit. I made a middle island. I'll upload a picture as it is on my wife's camera.

I had a problem with feeding but now the cork "island" makes a barrier for two parts of the tank so I can feed them seperately.

BUT is cork ok for the RES's to eat? Even though I cleaned it really good it still has cork sediment floating off of it and the bigger turtle is kinda chomping off bits of it.

wow..disregard..I went to go inspect why the big guy kept gnawing at the same place on the cork island..there was a Reptomin stuck in one of the nook and crannies of the bark..geez..he kept gnawing bit and piece to get to it..he'd would gnaw go under and back..amazing.

Well it's finally fit and placed in tank and the little guys (and big guy) have taken a liking to it. The little one, I still need to name them, still seems to ride on the back of the big one..oh well, can't break bad habits I guess..hehe

i wonder what causes those little bubbles on the walls of the tank. why dont ig et them? lol. i like the setup though its nice good job

The bubbles are from dissolved gases in the water usually.

The highly gaseous water (gasified by the filter splashing) travels to the side of the tank, and the bubbles fall out of solution, and propagate on the glass.

PS. That is just a guess

The corkbark looks like it's upside down...What's the other side look like?

The other side just had too many ridges and peaks...it would've been impossible for the guys to get up on it.

Bubbles usually happen when you do a water change too.

She put it way to high up, too. A four inch turtle could totally climb out.
