Habitat - Indoor :: XP3 Poblem

Hi

Water will not flow from my XP3. I have had this thing for years so I thought I knew what I am doing... When I first plug it in water shoots outs then stops. I kind of think something is stuck in the impeller (piece of carrot etc)

Please advise.

Take it apart and clean it? That's the only way to know for sure if something is stuck.

a few days ago i had the same problem. took me three hours to find out what was wrong. when i fixed it... it started leaking water. so the water would flow but i would hear air steam and then water leak from one side. took me a while to find out the problem. but for you, i think its the filter being dirty. keep trying to plug it and try and get the water flow going

Actually, when I plug it in, it shoots water out (I think the "out" hose fills up eventually when I let it sit) then it just stops. I have taken the filter apart 10 times. Like I said, I'm not really a newbie with it but this time I'm just stumped.

did you clean out the pipes? how do you know it stops? do you still hear the filter buzz after it shoots water? put your hand on the output and check if the water flows out because sometimes its hard to tell when you see it but if you dip your hand in from of it, you can feel it push. keep trying! i bet you'll get it!

If you have taken the filter apart 10 times then you would know if there was something stuck in the impeller or not. Assuming that you have cleaned the impeller assembly and put everything back together correctly, does the impeller spin freely when the filter is plugged in? If it does then that's not your problem. Next thing to look at would be the hoses. Make sure there are no obstructions. Finally, make sure the intake pipe is set up correctly. If it is sucking in any air at all then the filter will not prime itself properly.

My XP3 just doesn't start up sometimes. Personally, I think it's a sign that the motor is on it's last legs.

it could be that also...so you might have to buy a new one
