I tried searching, but nothing came up for me.

Where do you get the "egg crates" for the top of your tank? And what is the technical name for them??

Don't know what it's called exactly, but it's used to cover fluorescent lights in drop ceilings.You can find it at home depot in the drop ceiling section for $30 a piece.
I never used it cause it's not worth the price IMO.I built a whole canopy on my 125 gallon for the same price.

It's called light diffuser. You can buy at home depot or lowes. It's usually in the back by the roofing material. And the 4' x 2' sheet costs $11.

Jozzep might be quoting one of the fancier light diffuser. Basic egg crate looks like this:


It's the white 'box' on top of the tank. They come in sheets that you can cut with wire cutters and glue together to make shapes like the box.

That's also an old pic, my tank doesn't look like that anymore.
