Habitat - Indoor :: New enclosure draw up. Ideas? suggestions? Comments?

So im going to try to attatch a picture of a quick mock up i made on paint for a turtle enclosure im thinking of doing. The water portion works out to about 200 gal. Any suggestions? Itll be my first turtle enclosure, i have a couple freshwater fish tanks. I just want to make sure everythings going to be good for a nice little red ear slider. Ive read in a couple places that the water shouldnt be too deep when there small or they will drown? I havent read that on here so i dont know about that one. The only thing that i have been debating is the shallow areas being too shallow, but then ive heard that some turtles like to just stand in some shallow water and i really just want to make sure he has a little bit of everything to be comfortable. The slow moving stream will be really slow, it will be on a ball valve so i can regulate the flow, more for a little bit of surface movement to help with oxygenation. Im a little concerned with having air line tubing for a bubbler as ive heard turtles can be destructive and i dont want the little guy to eat a small peice and get sick. Thanks for any input, and dont be afraid to say its crap if it is, its just a drawing and an idea now, it can be changed now, harder to change when its built.

I see your idea, but i can't picture how you're going to integrate all the areas together.
Looks big and def a fun project.Can't wait to see the finished product.

Is that for a pond? Meaning you view the enclosure from top instead of sides like
aquariums. Definitely interesting. I'd like to see the finished project.

It's fine to use air line tubing. I think it's hard enough that the turtle can't destroy.

jozzep: the entire enclosure is going to have a layer of ridgid foam under the liner and where ever there is a difference in water level or transition from water to land i will be shaving the foam underneath to make it a smooth "shoreline" i guess.

Kemul: Yes exactly it is an indoor pond idea and the view is from the top.


Ill definitly keep updating when i build or any changes that get made from opinions or suggestions. Thanks for the insite!!!
