Habitat - Indoor :: perfect canister filter for 20-30 gal tank?

I'm trying to find a very good canister for a 20-30 gal tank. I have 2 little baby Red slider, they are only about 1.5 inches long.

I purchased a fluval 405, but alot of people said the 405 will be a little too strong, it might suck up the little ones. any suggestion on what other canister filter would be good for this size of tank??

with the strainer on the intake i don't see how they could get stuck. instead of spending money on a smaller filter try finding a larger tank, the cost would be about the same and it will save you upgrading later. i suggest watching them and seeing how they react to the flow and go from there. i babysat a 1.5" and he/she did fine with 1150 gph flow and the intake was a nifty place to gather food. it was only for a couple days so again i think he'll be fine but keep an eye on him just in case.

with a strainer on the intake means it will be placed right at the intake spot???

yeh it would suck up all the food, but I can always try to feed them outside of tank. in a different little 10 gal tank...
