Hello everyone,

I have a 65Gal tank for my RES (female) and I was using the small starter Clamp heat lamp. So today I went and got larger one. So here is the question, should I increase my bulb sizes also, I'm currently using 75, please tell me what you think.

Thank you.

it depends on the temperature of your basking area. if the different dome doesn't make a difference towards your established temps then you should be fine at your current wattage.

oh alright then, I was actually thinking of getting a 100w bulb. As long as it will keep her warm then I'm happy, thanks :D

cool. it's up to you. i've noticed my turtle likes really warm temps. she likes the basking area 15-20 degrees warmer than the water. that's the only temp she'll bask in for a considerable amount of time, so i use a 100 watt incandescent. her basking area is close to 100 degrees in the middle of the day.

my turtle loves her basking area around the low 90's or atleast she shows more sign of activity(swimming/foraging, and basking). I keep the water at 76 +/- 1 degree. She seems to do very well at these temps.
