Hey!

As you might know , I've got two RES, one male and one female.
1) Lots of time I see them standing in front of each other and vibrates their hands into each other. Is it mating or aggressive behavior?
2) Lots of time I also see the female standing of her legs and the make "smells" her tail, what is it?
3) This week I see the male RES trys to digg holes in the sand lots of times, and seems to spend much time doing that (in the tank- in the water).... What does it meens?

Thanks you!
Turtie!!

1) could be both
2) not sure what you mean... he is smelling her tail? My male RES likes to do the same.
3) is he using his front legs? He's probably just foraging. Females who dig with their hind legs might be gravid

if you have a male+female in there, it's likely they are active, which greatly increases the chances of egg production

his digging by swinging his body left-to-right , looks pretty funny tought
are you sure they can be active by egg production? i think they are not even 2 years old, but i cant be sure

ok... it gets really disturbing. the female digs intensively in the whole tank and throws everything away! how could i know if she's got something?

the male doing the same thing and he goes after her while shaking his hands...

Looks like an act of dominance.

They can definitely hurt each other or kill each other. If one turtle is large enough then they could completely decapitate the other one. I'm not sure though, I'm just going on the act of dominance since they both look like they tried to bite each other.

This is clearly aggression....They're biting each other.
Keep a close eye.If you find one with a wound on the top of it's neck, it's time separate.

Well, males tend to harass the female. Separate them temp then put them back together and see what happens. If it happens again then for good.
