Habitat - Indoor :: Tank & Stand Available

Hey all. I just upgraded Tanner's "digs" and now have a 30 gallon glass aquarium, cabinet, and Whisper Filter that I need to get rid of.

The aquarium is 36"L X 12 1/4"W X 16 1/2H with black edges (with aquarium backing). The cabinet is oak, 36 1/2"L X 12 1/2"W X 28 1/2"H - made for this aquarium. The filter is a Tetra Whisper Power Filter for 60 gallons (sponge media & instruction booklet included) and a couple of fake plants. Everything is in great working condition; the tank does not leak; the cabinet has some hooks I put inside to hang fish nets; the filter works great. I even have the chicken wire for the left side of the tank (see picture below). Turtle, light, water, dock and rocks not included



I'm offering all 3 items for *free*. I am not charging for any item - I just don't have the space for it in my home. Tanner, who is 4 1/2" shell length, fit very comfortable in it and had lots of swimming space; but I wanted to upgrade while I was financially able to (never know what can happen in the future). I am located in the Bronx by the I-95 and the Hutchinson River Pkwy.

If anyone is interested and is able to come pick up, let me know. If not, then I'll post it on freecycle. Just thought I'd give you guys first shot.

Oh, I almost forgot. I have the hood for this tank also, with a flourescent light. I don't know if you can use a special UVB light for it. The hood fits fine, no breaks in the glass and the light works (just looks a big dingy because I used to use this tank for fish).

Hey, I have the same type of filter, and mine leaks from under the intake tube. Do you know what that means?

I've never had a leak problem with my filter. Try contacting the company to find out what the problem is. They might send you a replacement.

If I don't get any takers by the end of the week, I'll post it on freecycle.org and then craigslist. If not, then I'll have to put it out on the curb. I just figured that someone starting out with a hatchling in NYC would benefit from this tank for at least two years before they had to invest in another set up.

If you can pick up the tank and cabinet, Steve, I'd be glad to give them to you. I'd hate to have to put them on the curb.

I'm tempted too. Hope you don't mind sending it some thousand+ miles down I-95 . My house is not far off from the interstate.

Before you put it out on the curb check to see if there are any non-profit animal rescue or or other type organizations that might be able to use the tank. I donated my old 40 gallon long tank to the Playcard Environmental Center in SC. You can even get a receipt in most cases and it can be tax deductible.
