Habitat - Indoor :: basking dock lighting question.

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

We are in the process of making an above tank basking area for our turtles, and im just wondering what setup (meaning actual product) would best suit our turtles needs?

I have a clamp on light that produces heat and uva. Im sure thats fine. But the other light is a 24" tube light that spans the rest of the tank. Now im not sure if thats the best place for it or not.

The dock we are making is 12" x 12.5" X 7" tall. We are planning on putting a screen over the dock and rest the lights on top.

Now I know my 24" bulb is too big, and is probably the culprit in making my water green, so what im asking is, what setup can I use for the turtles to get all the light they need on a 12" x 12.5" square?

I would suggest a repti-sun 5.0 compact fluorescent bulb, also in a clamp lamp, but you will need to position it at least 12" above the basking area.
