I think i posted something kind of similar before, but im not sure.Anyways i have an Aqua Tech Powerfilter rated for up to 60 gallons,my enclosure is 20 gallons. My problem is that alot of the water is flowing through the area around the intake tube, ive seen alot of pictures and it seems like the water is only supposed to flow through the filter cartridge and bio-fiber.

I cleaned the filter and the tubes with warm tap water and a toothbrush, and the water flowed through the filter cartridge and bio-fiber like it is supposed to,but then today the water started flowing through the area around the intake tube, again.I called the companys 1-800 number and i talked to a representative and he said its because i have turtles in the tank and they tend to foul the water faster, but i dont think that two hatchlings can foul the water that bad for the filter to go crazy in 1 day !

Has it ever happened to anyone with any similar filter? If so,any advice would be great!

Yes, it happened to me also although it was a Bio filter...What I did was lift the cartridge a little. This caused the water to flow out of the correct area. Meaning, take the top off and just pull the cartridge up a few millimeters at a time until the water flows correctly. Hope this helps.
