Ok Help me decide.

I have someone offer me a 75 gallon tank with everything. filters, heater, rocks, plants, stand and pump. She is asking 250.00

I have someone offer me a 75 gallon for 100.00. Only thing with it is the tank and stand.

Than someone for a 55 gallon with everything for 250.00

So tell me what I should do. Well at least help. What do you think is the better deal.
I want a bigger one now. and have these offers thrown at me in the same day. So I dont know what to tell them all, but let me think on it.

I'm assuming this is from someplace like craigslist? If so, you should ask them some more questions...
1. dimensions of tank
2. any cracks or scratches
3. why are they selling it
4. type of filter, heater, etc.
5. condition of the tank, stand, equipment
6. how old is it, how long have they had it, how long in storage, etc.
7. ask for PICTURES!

Feel free to stall and ask if they will accept less. The worst that could happen is they say no.

I just got a 60 gallon with 2 glass lids, oak stand, air pump and Aquaclear 110 with 2 carbon and sponge refills for $125! They had it listed for $140.

I would take the 75 gallon over the 55 gal. Obviously condition is key.

Good luck!

Well both are actually from local people. One I know and the other works with a friend. The 75 gallon tank with everything is the one I know. She takes very good care of everything she has. I have seen it. It is in very good condition.
1. dimensions of tank Have to check on it
2. any cracks or scratches none
3. why are they selling it does not want to clean it all the time. put fish in pond
4. type of filter, heater, etc. have to check
5. condition of the tank, stand, equipment excellent
6. how old is it, how long have they had it, how long in storage, etc. in the house for 6 years
7. ask for PICTURES!

The other 75 gallon was used for an iguania(sp) have to check on the rest. Have not seen it yet.

If all 3 deals are in the same condition and offer the same or comparable equipment, then obviously the last choice (with the 55 Gallon) isn't necessary at all, unless you're having some serious space issues, like 1 foot more won't do.

I agree with the posts above me on what to ask for, the first deal may sound sweet, but the person may have bad condition accessories, or ones that are too weak for a turtle (eg. barely made to handle fish, a hang-on filter), so the second choice may be more appropriate, since you can customize and get exactly what you want (maybe a canister filter if you're into that), maybe at a cheaper price also.
Hey hey hey.

I agree with Pizza and would take the 75 gallon w/stand for $100. For slightly more than $150, you can get everything else new and better :)

If this is the one used with the iguana, make sure it's actually an aquarium and not a terrarium. Glass thickness would be about 3/8".

Personally, I like being able to decide what equipment to buy and would just get the 75-gallon and stand for $100.

The filtration provided in the $250 package probably isn't powerful enough. I'd also go for the $100 and get a nice canister filter.

Ok everyone thanks so much. I think I am going to call her and see if I can go seeit this weekend and hope I get it. I agree that I can buy what I need for it. It is actually better right now to get that one as we are in a spot for money. So I can use my current filter and add one on the other side of the tank till I can buy a bigger better one. Also can get a submersible heater off of ebay. I have some of the other items I need already and getting another dock. So I should be pretty set. I can add a coffee cup for the hiding on the bottom of the tank plus get some live plants put in there. Just have to figure out how to get them to stay on the bottom.
