I just had this random thought in my head. Why is that domestic turtles need heaters, while the ones in the wild survive throughout the year with cold water/weather temperatures? just a food for thought

Because domestic turtles are weaker than wild turtles. And in the wild the temperature doesnt fluctuate (in the warmer months the temps probably around in the mid 70's and just drops a degree or two at night, and in winter, they hibernate) as much as it would in a tank.
