Very nice. Did you use the pond heater throughout the winter?

I used a heater when there was about 8 inches of ice on the pond. Got the ice melted and a bigger water pump installed.

Thank you! The bog is work great to keep the water nice and clear. The cattails are growing tall, lilie pads are getting big and are starting to put up flowers and the koi are getting big. The turtles have been feeding on the tad poles that the toads made. It's just the circle of life at its best.

Hi,

I have a red eared slider that about 13 years old. I live in Chile, South America. For at least the last 5 winters my turtle has spent hibernation at the bottom of her pond, which is about 4 feet deep. My family allowed it to brumate in that pond even when temperatures fell below freezing for most part of the winter and it did fine for years. Now that I am back home and feel that it is dangerous to leave her out there, I took her indoors as soon as it got that cold. I am not sure if i did the right thing or if should have allowed her to brumate like she has done the past years. Now she is inside the house where temp. is bit higher. Should I slowly lead her back to brumation outside? Should I allow her to brumate indoors? or should i start to slowly lead her out of brumation and keep her inside?

About how many gallons is the pond? The turtle is of a healthy age, however she would be fine without hibernating. If you already brought her out of it, then I would leave her out of if for now.

Not sure how many but its pretty big. Its a pool which part of it is a pond which acts as a natural water filter

What are the water temperatures? What does she normally eat? What's her behavior like?
