It's interesting, but you're better off with a cuttlebone for calcium and a balanced diet with good pellets and green leafies for vitamins and minerals. Ground beef, even lean beef, is just too high in fat for a turtle. Think about it - in the wild a turtle would never ever get food as fatty as beef. As an occasional treat a turtle can have tuna in water or shrimp or boiled chicken, but it's best to avoid the beef altogether.
Also, the pellets recommended on this site are very solid, whereas I doubt purina trout chow is balanced for turtles.
