Feeding and Nutrition :: Not Eating

A friend left two babies that she had recently gotten, with me, for a few weeks while she's on vacation.
One's about an inch and quarter in length(at the shell) and the other's a bit smaller.
Neither has eaten at all in the week that they've been with me, and I've tried feeding them Reptomin's for babies, and small bits of lettuce(not iceburg) each day.
How long can they go without eating?
Also, while one has the characteristic orange marks
on the side of its head, the other doesn't and seems somewhat darker green in color. Male and female?

Baby turtles need time to get used to their surroundings and their new enviroment. They will hopefully start to eat soon. Also, make sure that all the housing requirements are correct. Look on the site for that.
And if they don't start to eat soon, you can soak the pellets in tuna juice to help them want to eat.
RES can have anywhere from orange- red and any color inbetween in their markings. You can't tell them male from female by that.

ergo -- LZ is correct when little turtles have an environment change. You can enhance their hunger by taking a look at the husbandry guidelines for the turtles. Clean water, filtration, proper lighting, proper temp. and water volume. If these guidelines are followed they will get hungry. Good Luck
