Feeding and Nutrition :: please help!

My RES Harold hasnt been eating lately. i just moved him into a new tank about 4 days ago ,so that could play a part in it. he used to let me hand feed him, now he wont even eat normally. i even tried feeding him in a seperate containor but he just hit the food and swam frantically. what should i do?

If he's not eating in a new tank, it's not surprising that he wouldn't want to eat in yet another new environment (the feeding container).

He is healthy and was eating well before the move? If so, four days without isn't going to hurt him. I'd keep trying and give him some privacy during feeding. Do you have any aquatic plants or veggies in the tank?

What are the temps in the new tank (water and basking area)?

i dont have any reel plants and last night i tried a carrot shred and he didnt eat it. he is healthy (not lethargic or anything) and was eating well before the move. the temps are all normal. i think it may just be stress from the move...

Turt-bo-- Yep! New environment, new tank: it is not unusual for them to not eat right away. I have had them not eat for a week. Offer him food daily and keep an eye on him. Make sure that his water is kept clean. Try and make his water changes as gental as possible.

thanks i had thought it might have been stress from the move but i was worried he was sick or something. thanks guys, this site has the best turtle form ive been on yet

i am very happy to say that Harold has started eating :D:D and boy is he hungry. thanx for letting me know he wasnt sick or anything

Just keep his food supply steady... don't feel like you need to make up for him missing previous feedings.
