Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Why is everyone having problems with removing the backing? Is it them or is it me?

All i use are my nails, and they aren't even long. Takes me about 5 minutes to peel one (the type sold in bird stores)

Am i doing anything wrong? All i do is peel off that thin hard piece on one of the flat surfaces.

I just started soaking the cuttlebone overnight, and then use a butter knife to get the back plastic off....as suggested by other RES lovers in this site. And it's working so well- comparing to what I did without soaking the cuttlebone first! Try it out...it works well!
