Hi. I have a RES who's about 3 inches and a Yellow Bellied Slider thats a little smaller than 3 inches. Right now i have them housed in a 40 gal breeder which i plan on upgrading to at least a 75 gal maybe a 125 by the summer.
I was wondering if there is a limit to how much vegetables to give them in a day.
Ive gotten aquatic plants a few times, and they seem to literally eat the whole plant in 24 hours.
Since they would normally have these plants available (usually anacharis) other than how messy it makes the tank(!!), i dont see it being out of the ordinary.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks!

about a palm sized peice of lettuce a piece is normal, they can pretty much nibble on veggies all the time but if they are going to do that then there should be a drastic cut back on pellets.

I give my turtle a shell-sized piece of lettuce per day, he's 3.5" right now. He'd eat a whole head of lettuce if I let him, but lettuce still contains calories and can cause bad health if given in excess. Stick to shell-sized amounts for now until he's on a pellet every other day diet and then you can give him more on the off day. They may not be eating most of the anacharis too, they like to tear things up, but they might not be eating all of it.
