Yes, they always sink after a while. Your turtle will still eat it. If you really want it to float again you can take it out until it is totally dry and put it back in.

Yes, they do! Maybe our turtles are twins? :)

thats an older picture of Izzy up there, around when i first got her. If you look close you can see that her skin was pinkish which can be a sign of blood issues but that has healed/been treated. So shes better now. i have to update it.

Once the cuttlebone sinks, you can get it to float again by drying out thoroughly. However, once it becomes waterlogged, it's not likely to float as long before it sinks again.

I just leave it on the bottom, Squirt munches away at it all the time.

They will eat it eventually. If yours are the size of the one in your Av, they might not take to it now, but keep offering it. When they get older, they will eat it.

Yep, I just leave mine in and replace it when there is absolutely no more. It'll be a waste of little squid things if you kept tossing it away after it sinks.

Mine hardly ever does either, and mine is about the same size as yours. I can sneak in a little cuttlebone about once every 2 weeks (where I see her eating it). I do offer it at almost every feeding, in small pieces, with the backing removed, but it just sinks and stays there. I'm quite worried but the other food I give her says it has calcium in it. I'm hoping that is okay.

Mine never ate it until i put it in the veggie clip, so if y'all haven't, i'd try that. Secondly, back before when he wasn't eating it, i dusted it on his food that i gave him by hand and/or hid small pieces of cuttlebone in his treats like boiled chicken or in the gelatin turtle recipe.
