I was looking to get some anachris for Hank but before I went ahead and did that I just wanted to ask if you had to do anything special aside from placing it in the water. Is there upkeep? (ie: somehow nourishing the plant?) Does it need to be "planted"?

Thanks a ton !!

No it doesn't need to be planted. It will still grow if floating on the top of the water. However if you do plant it, roots will take hold. I usually also wash it out really well and check for little trumpet snails in the anacharis. They breed like nobodies business and I have had them overrun a tank before.

All this is not necessary if you plan to put it in your turle tank right away. It will probably be eaten within a day.

HAHA thanks chris ;) You're probably right... my turtle will do anything for food, including the food-freak-out dance when I come in the room.

Thanks for the info though!! Much appreciated
