Feeding and Nutrition :: Veggies idea for tough turtles

My old male res has been tough to get to eat veggies. I even made him bite veggies by putting them in his face. He will take a bite and "spit" it out. I finally got him to accept Healthy Herp Aquatic Turtle Diet, thats the Adult formula, and is in frozen cubes. He refused them at first but after only offering him the cubes and not his pellets, he has accepted them. These cubes are a lot of veggies, like carrots, and I highly recommond them for fussy veggie eaters.

Have you tried a veggie clip? It seems to help since it keeps the veggies in the same location.

try the tutle jello shots. do a forum search for them and you should be able to find a post that tells you how to make them

My turtles can be a real pain in the @$$!!, sometimes. Mainly with eating their greens. Because my turtles are big eaters, I doubt the veggie clip would work. They are not that lazy. The turtle jello shots I have quickly looked at before, but I may experiment with it sometime.

the jello shots have been a hit with pretty much every turtle that has tried them so they might be worth a try

my turtles wouldn't touch veggies till I made them jello shots and now they eat them up fast.

my Kame was also hard on veggie...but I kept her on veggie without giving nothing else for 3days and finally she ate it.

now she eats both veggie n pellet
