Feeding and Nutrition :: What kind of pellets should i get my turtle?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Post Posted: Wed Nov 11, 2009 6:00 pm   What kind of pellets should i get my turtle?

The three of them are over 2 years old and I am still giving them hatching pellets. (ReptoMin, or whatever the ones are called that are in the green bottle) They are like 3 inches now, and I was wondering if the adult pellets would be to big for them?

Or if i should just keep giving them the hatching food until they are a little bit biggeR?

I alternate daily with Niko...

One day he/she gets reptomin sticks then the next id feed mazouri pellets then the next day reptomin etc. etc. etc.

You should be fine with what your using, just try to alternate between foods so they dont get addicted to one specific thing.

You'll be fine with the adult foods... thats what I've always used for Niko even when he was but a wee thing. TBH I'm not even sure what teh diff is between the two other than their respectice pellet/stick sizes.

Hatchlings foods are higher in protein and adult foods are higher in vegetable matter.
Mazuri is the pellet of choice.

For some. If you compare Mazuri with some of the other brands, it's quite high in protein (40%), not much less than regular Reptomin. And Reptomin Baby actually is a bit lower protein than Mazuri.
