No, i first tried that with my first couple hatchlings and they did not grow at all same with first 2 medium sized turtle.

They get fed every day as much as they can eat basically up until there 2inches, then same thing but every other day or sometimes 3days without pellets depending on what else is given for food.

I give both mine a spoonful of pellets every second day, which is about the size of their head.
Veggies are at least a headful, usually more.
Protein treats I usually do a bit less than a headful.

I've been doin it with Niko and he/she seems to be groing just fine... but sometimes I also toss in an extra two pellets / sticks.

Last I measured Niko was 3.25 inches.

I just eyeball the amount at this point. I don't feed every day, and i have multiple turtles in each tank, so i can't keep track of who eats what.I'd rather give less than too much and have it float around for hours.

Sometimes.

I'm actually trying to fine tune feeding. I think we over fed for a while.

Ours are five years old and we've had them about 9 months.

I do not want to over feed for the obvious reasons - leftover food and more waste = very dirty tank.

I do not want to under feed because that seems cruel. I really don't care if they grow - I kind of think they're full grown, and I wouldn't mind that so much.

Since my girl hasn't grown lately, I've been feeding about the same amount each day (1/2 head size) and she seems fine. I check occasionally to see if it still seems the same.
