I don't know what a wildlife "studier" is, but they're wrong about how to keep turtles indoors. Do not put attempt to hibernate your turtle, under any circumstance. They do it themselves in nature, and that is the only way it should ever be done.

thats not really a grammar issue, that'd be more along the lines of "my of relatives studiers are nature"...i think this was more of a case of wth?, as there's really no such thing a nature studier. are they botanists, or ornithologists, or neonatal cytologists? i think spike was only questioning the veracity of their opinion, as their profession seemed nebulous.

and while i think everyone here does indeed try to do right by their res, according to their nature, the sheer fact that we have taken them out of the aforementioned nature, means we need to make some allowances and adjustments, and i believe hibernation is one of them.

cents, my two. :D

i dont know where you got that jay but i just read in a book called turtles and turtoises written by R.D barlett, by company,Barrons that scientists are still not sure if its good for turtle or not to make them go into brumation,

he suggests that only if your turtles are in tip top shape and fattish should you put them into hibernation, but if you see their not so healthy (respritory problems,..)then you shouldnt.sorry for my mistake!!!!

he writes that studies have shown that denial of hibernation for a few years leads to more unviable eggs then usual, he continues that you should only do it if they are in cond above. no offense lilturt but i think that this is a better source than peoples opinions, show me whom your citing from. :D
