i was wondering if a res will eat clams and if they do will it be ok because i had wanted to buy some to filter and clean my tank but wasnt sure about the res eating the clams

I never heard of feeding clams to turtles. Try snails they do the same thing and if the turtle eats them it won't harm them.
But i don't know much about turtles so maybe someone else will help out

well the snails eat the algea the clams filter the water so i was wanting clams

Depend of a lot of things,i had a river mussel in mine for a week,my turtle were breaking the brown layer of shell it had,3 of them died and i moved my last one to the guppies factory.

I would say to give it a try and see what happen. I dont think the clam would do any damage to your turtle.
