I would never go about trying to drown or hurt my turtle, not even if she was to bite me. Turtles are not that aggressive, yes, they can be when they feel harmed/in danger, or they want food. Now, unless you decide to take your turtle out, and toss it around, or annoy your turtle by peckinbg at it with your hand (yes, surprising it aswell), it will feel that its in harm way, most of the time, they hide or swim away, but sooner or later they will see whats up, and bite. I can put my finger up to my turtles mouth (not too close), and it wont bite (not saying that she will or wont). I'm just saying, just because a WILD animal/pet (they are born wild, no matter of training can change that) bites you, you shouldnt take it out on the animal/pet, nothing will change what its thinking about.
Now if you go about doing such things, like putting it under water thinking it will let go, then it can get worse. Also, every county/state has different water quality. I'm not tryign to argue, your just making it worse to try to resolve the problem.
Simple, if your turtle is aggresive, you should feed it by hand, if you have been bitten once, you may be bitten again, so if you do, you should have seen it coming. If you havent been bitten, its only time, so your turtle may or may not bite you, depending on what you do to make sure the turtle or turtles dont bite you. I just make it simple, take a tooth pick, and put sime food on hte tip, and call it perfect, she doesnt get the tooth pick in her mouth enough to even harm her, if she even gets it in her mouth at all.
Thanks,
