the problem is that why would you go out of your way to piss off your turt? you can get him to let go just as easy if you shake your food canister or one of the other suggestions above
1 turtle - shelldon
2 dogs - link and lacey

the path of the righteous one is beset on all sides by the tyranny of evil man.

I've only hand fed my turtle once or twice and he never attempts to bite me unless I accidently surprise him.

I would never go about trying to drown or hurt my turtle, not even if she was to bite me. Turtles are not that aggressive, yes, they can be when they feel harmed/in danger, or they want food. Now, unless you decide to take your turtle out, and toss it around, or annoy your turtle by peckinbg at it with your hand (yes, surprising it aswell), it will feel that its in harm way, most of the time, they hide or swim away, but sooner or later they will see whats up, and bite. I can put my finger up to my turtles mouth (not too close), and it wont bite (not saying that she will or wont). I'm just saying, just because a WILD animal/pet (they are born wild, no matter of training can change that) bites you, you shouldnt take it out on the animal/pet, nothing will change what its thinking about.

Now if you go about doing such things, like putting it under water thinking it will let go, then it can get worse. Also, every county/state has different water quality. I'm not tryign to argue, your just making it worse to try to resolve the problem.

Simple, if your turtle is aggresive, you should feed it by hand, if you have been bitten once, you may be bitten again, so if you do, you should have seen it coming. If you havent been bitten, its only time, so your turtle may or may not bite you, depending on what you do to make sure the turtle or turtles dont bite you. I just make it simple, take a tooth pick, and put sime food on hte tip, and call it perfect, she doesnt get the tooth pick in her mouth enough to even harm her, if she even gets it in her mouth at all.
Thanks,
Richard

lol, I like your toothpick strategy.
I want to change my original answer to this: if your turtle is biting you and you cant get it to stop, and your water is not a light form of poison than gently carry it to your sink, turn it on low, and let the cool, refreshing water drizzle on your turtles head, and if he brings out his head more to feel the waters coolness, or puts his head in, then case soved. OR, you could lightly pet his head, and if hes not the shy type, like my turtle hunter, he'll get so hypontized by a good feeling he never could get without you, that he'll open his mouth (this is not for every turtle). SORRY FOR MAKING MY ORIGINAL SOUND SO HARSH.
p.s if you really have a problem, get a pair of non-toxic, tight gloves.
