So I was reading the main site and mealworms are listed as not recommended. I was just curious what the explanation is behind it.

They have a really bad calcium/phosphorus ratio.

They really don't have any nutrition to speak of. And also their skins are really hard to digest. Most turtles really like them because they're smelly.
