What is it about mealworms (and superworms) that is bad for RES? Is it the fat? I'm starting a mealworm colony (for my gecko) and I feel bad that Tomi can't have any. Anyway, just curious.

Thanks.

Hmm... so I just read a recent topic where it says that mealworms have no nutritional value. Is this the reason? What if they're gutloaded (as I always do with mine b4 feeding my gecko). Are they still bad?

It'll help, but feeder insects (especially mealworms) usually have significantly more phosphorus than calcium. You'd want to avoid that imbalance, so I would make them an extremely rare treat.

Their skins are also awfully hard to digest. There's another thread on this topic if you look.
