His name is Thor, he is aboud 8 inches long and 5 3/4 inches wide, and is between 6 to 10 years of age. he does not have any wounds that i am aware of. I want to have all of the best nutrients for him, i already use vitaspray (came with vitashell) which i use to wax his shell daily.

Hi Doc
There is a sticky on nutrition with a lot of information on what to feed and not feed. As for the Vitashell, that's bad for the shell. It coats the shell and doesn't allow it to breath which it needs to do to grow and shed properly. I would discontinue use of that.

I agree with Love of Animals about Vitashell. If your RES (which might be a she), is healthy with a good appetite then you don't really need to do anything special. The diet info on the site will give you lots of ideas.

Your turtle does not need Vitaspray, your turtle does not need Vitashell (the shell needs to breathe). Your turtle needs a well balanced diet (like people do) and a good enclosure to live in. If you feed a good diet, your turtle should not need supplements.
