Feeding and Nutrition :: Feeding containers.

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I have started to get Sunny and Lily into the habit of eating in a feeding container/tank. However, they seem to attempt swimming into the walls of the container, as if trying to go to the other side. They refuse to eat much food, although a great variety was offered. They even rejected ham (a rare treat!) , something they would never do.
They seem to poop before eating, even though it may be the first meal of the day. How do I entice them to eat in the container?

Sounds like they are stressed from being in there. Just keep doing it for a few days, they should get used to it. Are you doing this separately and is the water temp the same as the tank?

Matryoshka- do you feed your turtles more than once a day? Mine usually poops right after eating, but I only feed her once a day.

Yes I do. Twice a day mostly, but if I'm in a rush and can only feed them once that day I would offer them more food.
