I would leave the food in the water... they may not realize that they need to grab it. If the food is being eaten, you need to make sure both are getting their share since one is usually able to get most or all of the food.

Good news! The food has begun to disappear! Unfortunately I don't know if they both ate or onr hogged them all. I put food on two opposite sides of the dock, they each have their own side preferences. I put the pellets on the dock at the beginning of the day and then goto work. I get back most of it's gone with some floating around.

thats good! My turtle hasnt been eating that much...

Its very possible that one is eating it all... it happens more often that you think.
