i have a hatchling res and feed him a whole head of pellets (i give him one kind of pellets one day and a different kind the next) along with a peice of red leaf lettuce. carrot slices once a week and a small peice of cuttlebone once a week. he has minows but is to small for them now. is this healthy enough?

Hi there, Daniel3507!

How big is your baby RES? What your feeding so far sounds pretty good, but I would go ahead and offer as big of a variety of veggies and fruits to your turtle as is suggested for turts. Variety is the key for the best health for any turtle. If you need a list of foods that's good for your turtle, just read the Sticky topics at the top of this forum (Feeding and Nutrition), and the Feeding section on the main website. What kind of pellets are you giving him? You're excluding the neck when you say a "whole head of pellets", right?

Good luck with Cujo!

Looks like your on track, follow what smoofish said.
And make sure you dont overfeed on pellets. Even when they beg.
