Feeding and Nutrition :: Do female turtles have more of an appeite than male turtles?

Ok I have a male turtle and my dad's girlfriend has a female turtle. We both have our turtle in the same tank. Hers eat and mines doesn't. Evey since I my turtle 2 months ago he hasn't eaten since.

Try putting them in seperate feeding tanks and put somthing good in there like dry shrimp(yyum)

It sounds to me like one turtle is hogging all of the food and intimidating the other.
Try feeding the turtle that eats in a separate container so that the timid turtle can eat in his own tank but in privacy which may encourage him to eat better.

Males do tend to be more skittish in general than the females, especially with adult turtles. I agree with what others already said though: the male will eat more if the female isn't hogging all the food. Feed them separately & I think you will see a change in attitude.
