Feeding and Nutrition :: Tadpoles

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Ok, so we just had a Tropical Storm last week, and my boat was full of water... And tadpoles. I had to leave my home for a few days and left Charlie and Sam Dean in the care of a 9 year old.
He called me, very excited, about how they were chasing the tadpoles and ate a lot of them.
My question is: was this ok? I mean, they seemed to enjoy them, but will it ultimately hurt them or could this be an every so often treat? They like their veggies and worms... But I'm not sure I'm ok with kidnapping baby frogs for my baby turtles enjoyment.
Thanks! :?

Umm, frogs aren't recommended for eating. Frogs can have toxins and poisons in them, and since you aren't raising them yourself (as they are living in rainwater), you never know what's in the water source. It's not recommended to feed anything that you don't know how it was raised. Stick with feeder fish and crickets from the pet store. Since they've already eaten some, I would keep a close eye on them for a few weeks just to make sure they don't fall ill.

Frogs aren't a good source of food for turtles. Don't risk getting your turtles sick.like computergremlin said stick to other live prey like feeder fish and crickets and worms

I wouldn't try anything wild except like crickets or grasshoppers as long as nobody around you uses pesticides.

I have lots of ideas! Trouble is, most of them suck!
