Feeding and Nutrition :: Pinky mice?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I breed fancy mice and had a peanut(dwarf) born a few days ago. Peanuts usually die at weaning so I culled him. He's sitting in my freezer in a mini ziplock bag. The oscar fish I use too feed them too has a new home so I don't want it too get wasted. Can I feed him too Sassamoe? Pinkys are pretty much just protien and calcium. I thought I'd check with you all before I thaw and give it too her.

As long as your turtle is large enough to eat it without choking, that would be my main concern.

Sassamo is 6" and the pinky is the size of 2 pellets :)
Good to know I can still use the tiny ones :) Kinda pointless too keep them alive since they have such short life spans. So these should be a monthly treat then? or bi weekly?

As with any high protein food, I'd feed it rarely, like once a month.
Your pinkies are the size of two pellets? The ones I'm used to seeing are much larger so that's why I was thinking about a choking risk, but I think a pinky that small would be fine :-).

Any mouse that has fur I use a co2 chamber too cull/euthinize them. Before a mouse has fur co2 gas has little effect on them since their breathing is very slow. It will eventually kill them in a several minutes. Placing a pinky in the freezer will kill it in about 30seconds. So I put them in the freezer in mini ziplock bags.
