Am I overfeeding? My turtles are about 2".I don't know how old they are,but I've had them for about 6 months.I feed them 3 times a day 1 pellet each time.I heard that if the edge of their shell is jagged then that means your overfeeding.Do you think I'm overfeeding them?

The 'rule' is the amount of pellets you could fit inside their head. For adults it's every other day, but for less than a year it's daily. Too much protein is bad; if your turtle is still begging you can offer veggies. Soaking said veggie in tuna juice is how I got my turtle to start eating them.

Take a look at the nutrition section.
There you'll see feeding guidelines for hatchlings.
They need a headful of pellets DAILY, and fresh veggies DAILY. You'll see a list of what'd good to feed, and what's not good- vegetable-wise.

If you can't figure out what a headful is, post pictures and people can help you. Usually hatchlings can eat 3-4 baby reptomin pellets depending on just how big they are.

From the blurry photo, I think you're overfeeding, because it looks like the shell
is pyramiding.

You can post a clear photo of your turtle with the pellet to get a good comparison.

What kind of pellets do you feed your turt?

I usually feed mine Reptomin Pellets - the ones that are about half an inch long, I break about three of them up in halves and give them to my turt all in one go. My turt is about 3in...I'd say yours should have two of the pellets that I'm currently describing, along with including vegetables in your turts diet.

Please do yourself a favor and check out the main website because all of the information that the posters have been stating can be found on the main page of the website. Honestly, if you're posting on the forums I feel as if you should know this information since you have such easy access to it...just takes some light reading. :)

I'm feeding mine 2 baby reptomin pellets a day and sometimes a peice of krill or 2. By the pictures I think yours is a little bigger. I'm afraid of overfeeding..
