Daniel's right 100%. There is a list of acceptable veggies on the main site. I believe they also discuss the different brands of pellets.

If you can mix the lettuce up with some green or red leaf lettuce occasionally it would be good. Romaine is an "alright" lettuce to feed, but green and red leaf is much more nutritious.

I mix my feeding up. I don't stick with a schedule, because I never what I'll have in the house in the week. Sometimes I have squash or zucchini or carrots, which I give the the turts. I'll mix their greens up too. Sometimes we get those tubs of baby lettuce, and we often have cilantro.

And don't forget the cuttlebone on a regular basis too.

I feed HALF a head size of pellets every day (instead of a whole head full of pellets every other day), because Oliver likes them so much.

I also feed Oliver dandelion greens instead of lettuce every day. He prefers them and the nutrient content is much more suited for a turtle. But when I can't get dandelion greens, I use red leaf lettuce, which I think is better than romaine, nutrient-wise. The amount of dandelion greens I feed every day is about the same size as his shell, sometimes a bit more.

Every other day I feed Oliver another veggie IN ADDITION TO the pellets and dandelion. Here's a sample schedule:

Monday: Half a head of pellets, a shell-sized piece of dandelion (from here on I'll just say "pellets" and "dandelion," because the amount stays the same)
Tuesday: Pellets, dandelion, and a head-sized (maybe a little smaller) chunk of gently cooked sweet potato (cut into tiny pieces)
Wednesday: Pellets, dandelion
Thursday: Pellets, dandelion, a head-sized piece of green pepper
Friday: Pellets, dandelion
Saturday: Pellets, dandelion, a piece of kale about half the size of his shell
Sunday: Pellets, dandelion

I offer dandelion consistently every day, but I mix up the other veggies. I give him a blueberry about every other week, carrots, green bean, and other things I have on hand if they're safe to eat.

I am still not sure on the amount of veggies (other than dandelion). I recently learned that I was feeding Oliver too small a quantity of veggies (I had only been feeding him a strip of sweet potato about a quarter of the size of his head, for example). But I don't know if I'm still feeding him too little or if it's too much, now. So ask around about the AMOUNT of food.

But anyway, the impression that I get from this website is that a variety of veggies every other day, enough pellets to fit in the head every other day, and dandelion or red leaf lettuce (or anacharis, if you can) EVERY day is best for your turtle.
