I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no. First, it would be difficult to feed them to your turtle. Second, due to their size, if for some reason there is a component of them that are indigestible to turtles, they could cause a blockage that is fatal to turtles (similar to gravel or sand). Third, excessive consumption of flax causes diarrhea in humans, so I would imagine it would be similar in turtles, and how will you know the right amount to feed?
I would stay on the safe side and just feed cuttlebone. It works and why fix it if it isn't broken?
